Profile – Brian Bell
Brian Bell has 30 years management experience with 13 years in the charity sector. To date he has successfully raised over £30 million for charitable causes.
Before founding Be Brave Fundraising Consultancy in 2006, Brian Bell was Director of Fundraising and Marketing at St. Oswald’s Hospice, Newcastle upon Tyne, where he was responsible for raising £3.5 million per annum. He also led a £5 million capital appeal to build a new children’s hospice.
Brian has sat on various charity committees including the Institute of Fundraising North East and PROMARK—a national committee set up to maximise the effectiveness of national fundraising, public relations and marketing activities of 173 independent hospices throughout the UK.
He is associated with the following organisations:
- A full member and registered consultant for the Institute of Fundraising (MInstF Cert).
- Approved consultant with NCVO – National Council for Voluntary Organisations.
- Approved consultant on the North East Provider Register for One North East.
- A registered consultant on Funding Information North East (FINE).
- A director of VODA – North Tyneside Voluntary Organisations Development Agency.
- A full member of the Northern Cultural Skills Partnership.
- A volunteer business mentor for the Prince’s Trust.
- A board member for Tyneside Amateur Operatic Society.
- Chairman of Friends of Langley fundraising committee.
